The Tuscan countryside with wine & olive oil tasting. Pasta cooking class was fun. Dinner at their favourite family-owned restaurant where I fell in love with the braciola and Sydney claimed she would leave me for the rigatoni! I planned a mother-daughter getaway to Italy, a fantastic idea, but... Choosing the right Tour Guide was essential to keep a teenager mood swing to a minimum! Celeste, was very pleasant, accommodating, had great knowledge and ideas of interesting places for (us) to see. Our tour guide, Elisabetta,... excellent, well-informed, fantastic knowledge, kept (us) interested, and wanting to know more... my fear of a teenager meltdown all washed away. Unusual Tourist opened her eyes, kept her awed and interested!

I got to celebrate my 40th birthday in Italy. Unusual Tourist assisted me on not just sightseeing tours but experiencing Italy like a local. Thank God I didn’t make a mistake of going to the Uffizi Gallery without one of their excellent guides! I tried to tap into my creativity (in a sculpting class). my own self-made souvenir now stands at a special corner in my flat... (Amalfi Coast via Pompeii) fascinating tour with another one of their great guides.

We had great day in Siena and San Gimignano with Slyvia and our driver. We loved the cooking class. It was lots of fun and the staff and food were great. And all of our homemade pasta was cooked without exploding. Only problem was that we were stuffed afterwards and had to take afternoon naps from the excess food and wine. We have had great time and will definitely use you again.

We had a wonderful trip and enjoyed it very much. Francesca, Maria, Alex, Elizabetta and Barbara were all fantastic!  We were especially fond of Elizabetta. When we left Florence and arrived in Venice we simultaneously said to each other, “I miss Elizabetta”. She brought the history to life for us and we enjoyed it so much.

Some of the most amazing experiences I've had was with the Unusual tourist. They took us to through Florence and gave us a lens that was so truly Italian I can't picture anything different. We went to farms, wine tours, amazing country side, restaurants, bars, markets and I was completely blown away.
